Recent artwork

A couple of drawings I've finished this month.

This one is the most "finished" , because it took me the longest. I'd say it took a week to do with maybe an hour or two daily and maybe a few days skipped =P The likeness is based on Sandara or Dara Park from 2ne1.

This one was really fast but getting the concept for it and a rough sketch I was happy with took a bit more effort than usual. The likeness I used is Yuka's face (japanese street fashion model).
Also , I'm trying to get better at backgrounds. It really isn't my strength especially since I usually just leave it white but I realize sometimes a proper background is needed.
I would not normally draw something like this, but it was for a contest on Deviantart that requires you to pick a drawing you submitted in the past and redraw it. In this case the drawing I picked was from 2008,  hence the anime-ish look. Not my favorite, but anything you draw is good because it's practice!

As much as I love portraits, I want to/should  work on full body stuff for next week :p

30 Day Monster Girl Challenge : Part two

I didn't give up on the monster girl challenge. I'm simply taking it at my own slow, slow pace =P . It's not that I dont enjoy doing it, but I don't always have a good concept or feel in the mood for monster girls. So I just do it whenever I feel like it and have an idea, it might be weeks , months..but I'll finish the challenge eventually.

Here is my Centaur girl, she is inspired by Brave and old school centaur Disney girls.

And here's a version without the old paper layer effect :

Hope you like her as much as I do :)

30 Day Monster Girl Challenge : Part 1

Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while but that doesn't mean I'm not doing anything. Last month I had a lot of time to experiment with new programs like 3dsMAX and SoftImage XSI, I really liked using MAX for re topology, and XSI for rigging. I got to make a character in under a week using mainly max and Zbrush, I'll be posting that soon when I get better renders of it.

Back to the 30 day monster girl challenge,
If you're unfamiliar with the challenge, it started on Tumblr and basically you follow this list of ideas and draw something based on them every day for 30 days. I wanted to do this to wake up my creativity a bit and get back into drawing more.

League of Legends Contest artwork

These are my two drawings that I entered for this years League of Legends contest with the theme " Lunar Revel". This was my first time entering any kind of game art contest, I was surprised I made runner up because there were so many great entries. I knew League had a ton of players and fans because of its popularity these past few years, but I didn't know among those fans were such talented artist. It was a very fun experience and I hope to enter more contest like these.

This one is of the Champion known as Ahri, and the next one is Annie and Tibers.

Both of these were done completely in Adobe Photoshop. The first one was easily over 20 hours of work, but the second drawing was about less than 8hours.
